Pink Saturday ~ March 28

For Pink Saturday, I thought I'd show the necklace & packaging I donated to my son's school. I had the funnest time participating. The necklace is made of apple green dyed turquoise, Czech rounds in a peachy coral color, ivory coral branches & a silver & coral pendant. To the right is the box I decorated for the necklace.
I also had the opportunity to make some special planters with each of the kids classes. The kids did finger prints & I made little pictures with them. Lots of garden critters & flowers. I had such a blast with all of them. The cutest thing is that my little one asks me if I'm coming to paint with him & his friends again :)
Thanks to Beverly for hosting Pink Saturday. Make sure you visit her blog to see all the participants.

Fun Stuff Going on Over at Lollishops

Lots of good things going on over at Lollishops! First, there's a new look to the home page. Super Cute! There's 12 handpicked items that normally follow a fun theme, a featured seller, recently listed items & covers of the magazines where our ads are featured. Run over & take a look, Marie Antoinette is the featured theme. If you have a specific theme, let Sadie know. She's taking suggestions!

The next project is the Creative Cottage Shopper. It will be a fun publication with coupons for exclusive discounts or freebies. In addition to that, "It will also have blog tips, decorating ideas, craft recipes and tutorials by various Cottage Style artisans. This shopper is not just exclusive to vendors at LolliShops.com. It will be open for Cottage Style artists from different venues to advertise too." The talented Heather of Bluhm Studios did the mock ups below & I can't wait to see it. It's going to be affordable (under $5) & chock full of cottage goodness!

Here's my little sneak peek. I'm participating & have some cuties to share! These were so fun to make & shoot. I even made my own ad. We'll see if I did all the technical specs correctly!

Pink Saturday ~ Mar 14 ~ I'm Soooo Late!

Happy Pink Saturday! I'm sorry I'm a little late. Even thought things have been crazy this week, I was able to go to my scrapbooking group & made a few notebooks. I'm going to Art & Soul & was planning on making some mini composition books to trade. I LOVE making these. The new ones are on the right. Above is a collage of some others I've made. I use scrapbook papers, vintage papers, rub ons, stickers, dresdens, die cuts; basically everything I can get my hands on!
Make sure you visit Beverly to see other participants. There are over 150 participants this week.

We're Sick, Now the Computer is Too

Seriously, can spring come my way, Now! I realized I've been such a blogging slacker. This is only my third post of the month. We've all been sick so many times. We're sharing the love & apparently the germs.

Well, the laptop is giving me issues as well. Thank goodness she's under warranty, but she'll probably be away for awhile. The screen keeps jumping with & without the power source, at different outlets, at different homes. Yep, one of those no rhyme or reason things, so I figure I better bring her in.

My shop will be closed starting this Saturday, March 14. I'll have limited access to my store and full access to my email so feel free to contact me kate[underscore]vee[underscore]me[at]hotmail[dot]com
I hope to be completely back online by late next week (Mar 20). In the meantime, I'll be working on a few new collections! So excited; the one inspired by Marie Antoinette & one inspired by the sea. I've got quite a few special orders as well.

I found the images courtesy of the flickr group Collage Images. Thank you Take a Break. Click on the pictures to be taken to the images.

Marie Antoinette Celebration

I am anxiously awaiting the release of Stampington & Co's Marie Antoinette publication. I received word in December that one of my jewelry pieces was going to be part of the issue & last month got the preview emailed to me to proof. I about fell over. I have 2 full pages in this issue. I'm honored to be sharing the article with 2 other talented artists. It's a dream come true.

I've been so inspired that I got an idea to make a OOAK collection inspired by Miss Marie. It will make it's debute in my Lollishop on April 1, the day the Marie Antoinette magazine is released. I'll be posting sneak previews here on my blog & on my flickr account.
Here's some inspiration of some of the charms I'm working with & a sneak peek of a finished piece.

Goodie Goodie LolliShops!

Eeekk, I'm on the front page. How exciting :) Thanks Sadie! I've had such a crazy day; second snow day from school, puking kid, puking dog, dead car. What else can I ask for? Actually, I'd like some me time ;)
I'll get the update for the week started tomorrow.

Snow Day

Woo hoo, we got enough snow to play in!!These are just a few pictures. I love to take snow pictures. I think it's so beautiful!
Yea, another snow day, but lots of snow this time. I couldn't believe it. We just don't get snow here in Charlottesville like I thought we would. It snowed all night & was still snowing this morning. The kids & I went out to play even though it was only 22 degrees outside. It's not really so cold; it's the wind!
My oldest son has another snow day tomorrow & the younger one has a 2 hour delay. I don't know how the pictures will be tomorrow. It's supposed to be clear, so no more snow :( We didn't leave our house because the driving conditions were so bad so I only have pictures from the yard.
