I'm In ...

with my hubby & my cricut. (And no, I didn't pay $500 for it! Ebay is my friend.)
This year my husband & I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary. The last few years, we've been celebrating anywhere from 2 months to a year after the fact. Sad, I know. Thanks goodness this current move will give us lots of time as a family & hopefully more as a couple.
I got my new cricut as my anniversary gift. Yes, a paper cutter for my anniversary. Would you expect anything else from a craft freak? (My hubby's gift is "him" as well. He got some sort of super Garmin thingy). Our anniversary is not until October, but the gifts are already taken care of & we're planning a special dinner. I can't wait!
I've been playing with my cricut & made the simple card to the left. I hope to get really good with it & make some funky stuff! In LOVE...

Sneaky Peeky

I've been keeping busy with getting the house in order & the kids ready for school. We went to Brandon's open house last night & our entire family is excited for him.
I've been squeezing in craft time here & there. I have glass glitter on my face & everywhere else. I'm also working on some ideas to submit to a few publications. I've got the craft show coming up in November, a possiblity for another one in December & a very empty etsy store. Just popping in to say hi, hopefully I'll be back soon with completed projects instead of peeks.

Home Sweet Home ~ Again

I think I'm starting to get used to this military moving thing. While I got somewhat misty eyed, I didn't shed a tear with this last move. I'm such a cry baby so it's a big step for me.
As I've mentioned before, we are really down sizing. Yes, I'm a hoarder & a junk admirer & a saver/recycler, but alas I don't have any more good reasons to tell Rick why I should continue to haul all this crap around with us. Or worse yet, pay for additional storage. So purge away we must. Take a look at this. This is my soon, or not so soon, to be craft room. Right now it's the storage unit. I actually had to leave while the movers were unpacking the truck with our crates. I was a tad stressed out that everything would actually fit in our little abode. (The lovely photo to the left is my"craft room" which is more our storage room at the moment)

Charlottesville is such a lovely town. I'm already in love with it & dreading moving away in a year or so. Every Friday the downtown has free music & many vendors & entertainers in the streets. I LOVE the downtown. It's a pedestrian mall with lots of cute local stores & boutiques. I got a little find I couldn't resist. It's more than I normally spend on vintage jewelry, but it's a cross-stitched pin & it shows definite wear. I love that it's already had a life. I'm definitly keeping this one for me. There was free music at the ampitheater, which we enjoyed. There's a good mix of people, definitly family friendly. We ate at an outside bistro. I'm in HEAVEN.

It's A Dress Form Party

Thank you to our wonderful hosts Tiffany, Nadia, & Kitty for having a wonderful party. Make sure you go visit Tiffany's blog to look at all the participants.
Here are a few pics of my forms. I apologize for the pictures. Most everything is packed from our move & I didn't have any new pics.

I bought the full size form (Her name is Princessa) when I was a design student at FSU. She's followed me around ever since. I haven't really done anything to decorate her but she is used. I've draped a few patterns off her for myself & more recently Princessa comes to all my jewelry shows as a display.

My computer is in the shop & hubby is asking me to get off the desk so he can do his homework, the nerve of some people! (Hee hee :) He's actually standing over my shoulder & reminding me he now subscribes to my RSS feed.
I guess I'm gonna have to finish blogging in the AM at some time. I also unpacked another wire frame I have. My mom made it for me some time ago & she's such a beauty.

EDITED: Here's the other form. Sorry the picture is so crappy. I'm short on photography space around here. As a matter of fact, I had to creatively stage this shot so boxes weren't showing.I found another picture! I entered a jewelry design contest a few years ago when I started getting "serious" about a business. I was messing around & tossed all my jewelry on the form neck. This is a serious mess!
