Thank You

Thank you so much to everyone & your well wishes for my health. This blogging community is so wonderful & I'm blessed to be a part of it. I'm still waiting for some additional test results, but I have been feel a little better. It really stinks to not have the energy to do what I love.

Classes I'm Teaching

I'll be teaching art classes at the AC Moore location in Dover, DE. I'll be making collage frames, memory wire bracelets/rings, and jewelry basics with necklaces & earrings. When you take a class with me, you will get a fun packet with inspiration, instructions, resources & a little goodie bag from my stash. Below are examples, ideas, and a few hints. If you are interested in taking any of the classes, please go to the store directly to register. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I'll be at the store about 30 minutes before the class if you have any last minute shopping.

Jewelry Basics: Make a Necklace & Matching Earrings
Learn the basics of jewelry making (necessary tools & techniques), design elements, and a few hints. Make a necklace & earrings and wear them home tonight. We'll cover what you need as a "starter pack", types of jewelry making techniques (stringing, weaving, wire), crimping, & making your own pendants.

Memory Wire Jewelry

Create easy to make & wear memory wire jewelry. Memory wire keeps its shape & can be adjusted by the amount of wire you cut. I like to use seed beads as spacers between beads. Sometimes I make symmetrical designs & sometimes I go with the flow. One of my trademarks is the pendant that I hang from the middle of the bracelet. Bring a pendant or a favorite focal bead (hole top to bottom), eye pin & split or jump ring.
On memory rings, I like to use shank back buttons. The possibilities are endless. Make these as gifts or one for everyday of the week for yourself.

Multi Strand Jewelry

Make a necklace or bracelet with 2 or more strands. You can make them graduated or all the same length. This is a basic to intermediate class type. A bead board is helpful for beginners. We'll go over any quick basics such as attaching clasps with crimp beads. This will take your designs to the next level.

Art Frame
The following frames are examples of what you can do with the $1 - $1.99 wood frames from AC Moore. For adhesives I use Gel Medium, Mod Podge (matte) and Scotch Scrapbooker's glue with dual applicator.

Taking A Break

I hate to do this, but as you've noticed, I've been MIA on the blogging scene. I have a lot going on right now and my health is not in the best of shape. It's nothing serious, but I'm waiting for some blood tests to be done. I just don't have the time or energy to blog as much as I want to. I'll continue to read up on my faves and hopefully I'll be blogging on a regular basis again. Here's one last quirky thing. I saw this show and thought "I'm so there." Yes, everyone in my family is laughing as I tell them about this or if they happen to read this. It didn't even matter who was on the show. The fact that it's former "Boy Band" members... My husband always tells me I'm into boy bands and bootie music. (For the record, I'm into other genres too. My taste is eclectic) I was sooooo in love with Color Me Badd. I did some silly things back in the day. My friend and I stalked them when they were in concert in St. Petersburg. We found their hotel. Don't ask how, we just did. The good ole days...
